Shoji Kerada is an Anglo Japanese young man who belongs to the elite earth defence force EPIC (Espionage Peace Keeping Intelligence Commonwealth).

There is an increasing threat of alien invasion, and after enlisting the help of EPIC, the most powerful earth governments have taken the bold step to have a first line of defence in outer space.

These are called Ultra Platforms. Super soldiers are charged up by a large and unique cobalt power source, then despatched to engage the enemy at close range. These soldiers are every bit as powerful as an outer space fighter craft, but boast 10 times the maneuverability and quick response capability.

The only drawback, is they need to recharge at least once every 12 hours, meaning that without fail, every mission has a strict deadline. Should any operative overstay the 12 hour timelimit, they are totally on their own, and failing to find another means of recharging, would have to find their own means of survival as well as their own way back.
