Get Carter! The Last Dragon Scout #1Title: "Life is never easy for a Saviour!"
Definitely NOT a movie-to-comic adaptation of the hit 1960s British film classic, Get Carter!
But it IS a Singapore produced, comical, light hearted, superhero rollercoaster-of-a-romp, suitable for most age groups.
Its about a 14 year old Chinese, celestial cosmic prophecy, named Carter Chan. He is biblically hailed as The Last Dragon Scout, Protector of the 9th Column - to know more about Carter and the supporting cast, see their biogs in the Characters link above.
Together with his DragonProtect, Bowbalee The Magnifique, you'll experience the mayhemic turbulence of our young hero's life. And the first episode of this new series is aptly entitled 'Life is never easy for a Saviour!'.
Also introduced in this first issue is Mao Ying, who will be a regular throughout. This young feisty beauty crosses paths with Carter after a 'situation' involving her rich-brat fiancee, Raven Low. We don't want to reveal too much yet, but issue no. 2 introduces Raven's vengeful uncle - Low Peck Ho, Master of the Flying Guillotine.
And as if that isn't bad enough for Carter's future, in issue #1 can also be found Ramona Parkway, an overzealous law enforcement officer from TranSquad, who has developed a complex against anything green, scaly and sizeshifting, which fits the description of Bowbalee exactly!
Oh yes, and did we forget to mention The Melch? Not to worry, they're only three outer-galactic death-warriors out to kill and strip young Carter of his PowerViscos.
It's all happening in the first psuedo east-west blockbuster from Nice One Entertainment,

Get Carter! The Last Dragon Scout #2
It's not every day you see a young comic hero
face off with a 1970s kung-fu movie legend!Issue #2 of Get Carter! The Last Dragon Scout introduces the 1970s kung-fu movie legend, 'The Master of the Flying Guillotine', whom many consider to be the Holy Grail of 1970's Hong Kong martial arts films.
The cult and legend of the movie continues to grow as martial art films move into the current mainstream. Both Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson single out "Master" as one of their favorite films.
It is a unique and timeless masterpiece, presenting mythic themes and characters that predates Star Wars, inventive street fighting that inspired a host of films as well as video games and gravity defying action 25 years before Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
NOE pays tribute to this kung fu cult legend with a comicbook adaptation of the Master of the Flying Guillotine in #2 of Get Carter! The Last Dragon Scout.
The flying guillotine is considered one of the most notorious weapons in kung fu movies. The weapon, however, has been documented to have existed in many historical Chinese journals.
Jerry says: "As a young schoolboy in England back in the 70s, I would often imitate the actions of a flying guillotine by combining my Rastafarian hat and scarf, and hurling it about the classroom. I knew that someday I would bring this character to life in a comicbook of some sort!"
Imagine a hat with razor-sharp saw blades on the edges, at the end of an exceptionally long chain. The master sends the hat flying into the air and steers it towards its target, trapping the victim's head inside the hat before swift decapitation. Put this weapon in the hands of a blind man who is a grand master of kung fu and has the ability to hear a pin drop on a sponge in the middle of an earthquake, and you have one dangerous fellow who's out to -
Get Carter! The Last Dragon Scout.
Title: "You don't wanna know!"Previously: Carter Chan, our young hapless super-saviour, and his DragonProtect, Bowbalee The Magnifique, saved the life of the brave and beautiful Mao Ying while escaping the wrath of outer-galactic bounty hunters, War Axe and The Melch.
We also discovered that Mao Ying is reluctantly betrothed to Super City loud-mouthed jerk, Raven Low. The arrival of Carter, however, upsets the apple cart.
More mayhem is about to break loose when Raven Low's great-uncle, Low Peck Ho, MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE joins the chase to save the family name. The deadly grand master of kung fu, although blind, can hear a pin drop on a sponge in the middle of an earthquake!
But young Carter must beware of using his PowerViscos here in the 9th Column for fear of alerting The Melch!
Join us on this 2nd east-west blockbuster featuring a bombastic fusion of cosmic super heroics and legendary 1970s kung fu film wizardry!
